About me
I graduated with degrees in Zoology and Spanish from North
Carolina State University, having completed a Beckman Scholars scholarship to
do lab and field work with a coral reef fish, the bluehead wrasse (Thalassoma
bifasciatum). The research spanned two summers and the school year in between, both on campus and at Glover's Reef Marine Research
Station in Belize.
As an undergraduate, I studied abroad at the University San Francisco de Quito in Cumbaya, Ecuador. I recently returned to Ecuador for a month long field research internship surveying herpetofauna.
Currently, I am participating in the JET Programme. I assist in the teaching of English to Japanese school students in Miyagi Prefecture, Japan.

Pet peeves:
- Not understanding something that's both simple and *has* to be done ASAP (this is usually with regard to calculus homework).
- Putting jeans on after a swim when I don't have enough towels/time to sufficiently dry off.
- Illegal turns into the far lane
- The word "busted", as it originates in an improper conjugation of a past tense of "to burst" and should therefore not be a word. According to me, anyhow...
